Situated in the Department of the Gironde in South West France, about one hour east of Bordeaux Airport and 45 minutes west of Bergerac Airport. There is a TGV railway station at Libourne which is about 40 minutes away

The hamlet is about 3 kms from Pellegrue and Gensac. Both are small towns with weekly markets, butchers, bakers and small supermarkets

There are also the larger market towns of St. Foy la Grande and Castillon la Bataille, both on the Dordogne river, about 20 kms away. The famous bastide town of Sauveterre la Guyenne is 15 minutes to the south

We are in the midst of the great Bordeaux wine area and for wine lovers there is an abundance of local chateaux for visiting and tasting. St. Emilion is only 30 minutes away!

The Atlantic coast is about 1 hr 30 mins drive. Within reach is Arcachon, which is a chic French holiday town famous for its seafood, and Lacanau Ocean, which hosts the world surfing championships in August and has great wide sandy beaches

There are many excellent restaurants nearby and the cottage is situated in a very peaceful unspoilt area with plenty of opportunities for walking, bird watchingcycling and relaxing
